Members at the Westfield Bay City Shopping Centre collected donations for a terminally ill Geelong girl Mikayla Fisher, so she could go to Sea World on the Gold Coast.
Workers on the Deakin University site raised money for single mum, Jodie Meade, who is terminally ill. Jodie's mother received the donation as her daughter was too ill. She was overcome with emotion saying: "I don't know any of you but what I can say is that this money will come in handy. It will be put into a trust fund for Jodie's daughters".
The workers were moved to help after hearing about the family's circumstances from one of the workers on the shopping centre site.
