Lauren Huxley Appeal

Lauren Huxley's long road to recovery, following a brutal attack in her Northmead home in November 2005, was given a boost, when union members from Sydney building sites presented the family with a cheque to help rebuild her life.

Thousands of members of the CFMEU donated to the appeal, which provided income support for the family during Lauren's time in hospital, covered medical expenses, and is assisting with her rehabilitation.

CFMEU NSW Secretary, Andrew Ferguson said: "When new of the horrific attack and Lauren's life threatening injuries came to light, member who'd worked with her father Pat were determined to do their bit to help the family through this difficult time."

"it is wonderful to see the generosity of the CFMEU members who happily dug deep and supported a fellow worker in need, which is exactly what being part of a union is all about."
