Mining and Enery Division

The Mining and Energy Division of the CFMEU consists of a number of unions who have amalgamated. The largest union to contribute to the formation of the division was the “Miners’ Federation” - the Australasian Coal and Shale Employees’ Federation (ACSEF) which had a continuous history dating back to 1915. Predecessors to the ACSEF had existed sporadically since the 1850s.
